CHILDREN’S CHURCH CURRICULUM

If you’re like most children’s pastors, you need your children’s ministry to REACH KIDS and PRODUCE SUPPORT. You want to impact the lives of boys and girls while generating the workers and money you need. I understand. Not only do you need to reach kids, you have to do it in a way that attracts the support of your pastor, board and congregation. If it is going to thrive, your children’s ministry must have INFLUENCE.

Let’s face it. If your church leadership doesn’t value what you are doing, then you won’t get the budget and space you need. If the congregation doesn’t value what you are doing, you won’t get the workers you need. Your ministry needs to BE effective and LOOK effective.

Put simply, Z is a Customizable Bible Curriculum from the creators of Kidz Blitz Live.

First, let’s settle something. This curriculum is NOT for every church. Honestly, not everyone wants something like this. Traditional churches will find this a little over-the-top. Let me explain.

EZ to CUSTOMIZE

You will receive each lesson in PDF and MS Word. Yes, you get both. With the PDF version you can print it out immediately and use it as is. With MS Word you will be able to customize the lessons to fit your children’s ministry. Make it reflect you. When you print it out to give to your teachers, it’s exactly the way you want it.

Here’s what I mean. You can REWORD IT, REARRANGE IT, and JAZZ IT UP.

This already has a lot of pizzaz but maybe your one of those children’s pastors who just can’t get enough excitement in your children’s church. You can go to BigCityStudio.com and JAZZ UP your lessons. Get FREE ideas for additional stuff you can do with the curriculum.

You can REARRANGE any lesson. Go ahead, spice things up. Play the games first one week and last the next week. Have Joe Nitro bursting into the room during MAKE A SCENE or arrange for him to wait until just before the REWIND review time. The key is it is up to you.

You can REWORD it. Change the lines in a skit. Explain the Bible story from a different angle. Change a review question. Only you know exactly the way you want it. We provide the memory verse in 4 translations. Pick one, delete the others or insert your own. We don’t believe we should tell you which translation to use. 

INTERACTIVE, ENGAGING, MOTIVATING!

We use teaching methods that are interactive, highly engaging and extremely motivating. Let me explain.

NOTHING grabs the attention of kids better than a mind-blowing game. We know it’s hard to find cool games that work in a group setting. So we take care of you. We give you a cool game every week. We know games. For years we have been using games to captivate kids in Kidz Blitz Live events. Sometimes the groups number in the hundreds and sometimes they number in the thousands. We are THE game experts. We know what makes an exciting game and what makes a lame one. We have learned the secret: a game doesn’t have to be big, high-tech, expensive, or complicated to create fun.  The game just has to pass the one acid test...Is it as much fun to WATCH as it is to PLAY.

Keep in mind competition is a great tool when used correctly. It’s a fact. It takes competition to engage boys. You will LOSE THE BOYS if you are afraid of using competitive games. Families with boys know their sons turn everything into a contest. Who can get into the car first? Who can  Boys are hard-wired to compete. When you keep the competition friendly, non-athletic and even humorous; kids will connect with what you are teaching. Don’t be so spiritual you can’t play a competitive game that allows kids to be kids. 

Another secret is that when a skit happens IN FRONT OF THE STAGE among the kids--instead of ON the stage--the kids feel like they are a part of what’s happening. The kids FEEL the skit. Quick skits are not only easy to learn they provide a jolt to the main idea of the lesson. Impact skits make a memory and help the kids understand how to apply the lesson in real life.

Multi-media is NOT enough. Watching a video has limits. There is no substitute for a real person in the life of a kid. You need something that people will want to jump into. Videos have a place, but no video ever called a kid by name, prayed with a kid or hugged a kid. You need people.   

The default theme of this curriculum centers around a movie production set. It has the urban feel of a big city with the main characters being employees from a studio. However, by modifying certain parts of the lessons, you can change the theme to anything you like. Consider a tropical theme. Maybe outer space. It’s up to you.

If you are feeling skeptical, it is OK. I would be too.

Z is not worker intensive. In most churches you can run this with two people. TWO PEOPLE! In addition, you will need skit characters, but it is a minimal commitment.

The skit characters are people who can enter, play their part in 2 minutes and leave. Characters do not have to be children’s workers. It’s better if they are not. You can easily get volunteers because they don’t have to stay with the kids.

We know time frames vary from church to church. Z is FLEXIBLE. Some churches need up to two hours. Others need less than one hour. By adjusting the review games, praise and worship, and the Z Street Game time you can expand or contract your time frame.

THE POINT OF IT ALL

Z curriculum will explain and illustrate WHAT GOD IS REALLY LIKE. When kids begin to grasp God’s GRACE, POWER and FAITHFULNESS they are on the road to a relationship with Him. The more kids know about what God is really like, the more they are motivated to receive what He has done for them and reflect His purpose for their lives. Z curriculum is God centered not works centered.
