Roger’s 7 Personal Rules

My rules and I’m stickin’ to ’em.

  1. I rely on what Jesus did for me on the cross. Nothing I have ever done–or will do–for God compares to what Jesus did for me. Nothing in my life is impressive compared to Jesus. I will not lose sight of the cross.

  2. I try to mind my own business. No unsolicited advice. If you ask I will be glad to give you my opinion. It might be worth something or it might be ridiculous.

  3. I don’t take myself too seriously. This is easy. I know my capacity for messing things up and realize I am capable of saying some really stupid stuff. I have learned to laugh at myself.

  4. I am content but not complacent. I appreciate what I have and what God has done for me but I am always looking for the next step God places in front of me. I am willing to move on but content to stay put.

  5. I don’t believe anybody owes me anything. I am not entitled to anything from anybody. That makes it easier to be grateful for any good thing that comes my way.

  6. I don’t get offended (at least not easily). Offense never accomplishes anything.

  7. I Trust God. I realize I don’t have it all figured out. Life is complex. My problems are His problems. He can handle it.
