It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by life’s pressures.
Sometimes we forget that God created us distinctly different and with an amazing capacity.
Even the mind and body He gave us is a bit more impressive than we tend to think.
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! It is amazing to think about. Your workmanship is MARVELOUS—and how well I know it. (Psalm 139:14 TLB)
Compared to your smart phone, you are looking pretty sweet.
1. Your smart phone can’t learn anything on its own.
You have to download the operating system (and keep updating it) and the apps to make it work.
You, however, can learn on your own. You can learn history, math, English, science, music, etc. without downloading an app for $.99.
2. Your smart phone will not repair scrapes.
When the screen gets cracked, it’s over.
Your skin, however, will repair scrapes, cuts and bruises on its own.
Aren’t you glad you don’t go through life with all the scrapes you have had over your lifetime?
3. The camera on your smart phone is 8 megapixels or less.
Your eyes, however, operate at 576 mega pixels and have 200 million moving parts.
Whoa! Even if you have to wear contacts your eyes are amazing.
4. Your brain is a high-speed supercomputer.
One of our brain cells can hold 5 times the information of an encyclopedia and transmit impulses at 170 MPH on the same energy it takes to run a 10-watt light bulb.
It holds massive amounts of data and never needs to be plugged into the wall.
And its 80% water.
5. Your smart phone is guaranteed to be obsolete in a few years.
However, unless something unforeseen happens, you will still be going strong.
You have a future, your smart phone doesn’t.
Now tell me about your cool iPhone. And give yourself a little more credit.
You are more amazing than what you hold in your hand.
